Believe it or not, Sadaf and Kiyan’s timeless Persian nuptials were not my first experience into the rich traditions of Persian weddings (or my second), but my third! Previous to their summer wedding, I photographed both their sister’s and their cousin’s beautiful wedding days. The one thing that sticks out, though, from all three of these couples? Their family. Over the years of working with their family I have built such a bond that I almost started to feel like a Persian bride myself!
Strong maternal bonds graced Sadaf as she got ready for her glamorous wedding day.
The wedding took place at the Waterview in Connecticut, and the first look was set in the English-style gardens, enhanced by the sound of a trickling waterfall.
The white simplicity of Sadaf’s glamorous dress found the perfect backdrop for timeless portraits amongst the rich warm greens of the bushes and florals of the English garden setting.
The Persian wedding ceremony was rich in tradition (and honey!) and revealed a lavish table of gifts.
The stately reception began with traditional Western traditions and lead into a night of enthusiastic dancing. If there was only one thing I could say about my breathtaking bride it would be “boy, can you DANCE!”
